For the thrird face to face I felt much more confident with google apps. I was able to follow along with Dorit on my computer and bring up the power points as she was. It was extremely helpful to work in groups to do the peer reviews. Being able to get suggestions and positive feedback was very beneficial. It was also really neat and inspriring to see what kind of lesson plans the others in the group created.

  2. I for one felt greatly relieved after leaving the last meeting. I was surprised to see how many people had the same feelings and problems as I did. Some of us stayed after the class broke up and we were able to express to each other our frustrations, problems, our self doubt about pretty much the same things. It felt good in a way to know that I was not alone in dealing with the difficulties that I had. Many of us had put in alot of time working on our projects and I for one was feeling a little guilty about what I had to show for it. I was not sure if my work was on point or not.
The peer review I thought went very, very well. I wish that we had devoted more time to that aspect of the course. Also, as far as the projects were concerned, I did not think that the examples given did anthing more than to confuse me. They were not aligned with the outline that was given and they did not show any differentiation of instruction.
Looking back, I wish I was able to use the blog better to help me clear up some of the confusion. I could have asked my peers for clarification on some issues. However,

  3. I found many of them were having the same difficulties as I was.
I also could have contacted Dorit directly to get the help that I needed. She had given all of us her cel number No instructor I have had in the past has ever done. She mad it clear that she would be more that willing to walk us through anything and for that she deserves a big THANK YOU! If I learned anything from this course (and I learned alot) it would be that you should never be too proud to ask for help.

  4. Friday's face-face was helpful for me. I was able to express to Dorit how I was having trouble with my computer as well as issues with portions of the project. Hearing what the others were going through let me know that I was not alone, which made me feel better. I was able to ask questions and to see my classmates presentaions. Working in teams also was great for me. Talking to Sabriya, Tracy and Lorraine hepled to clarify some issues as well... A big thanks to them!

  5. It was definitely helpful to get feedback from others in the classroom. They definitely gave me some good ideas to incorporate into the project template.

Wish we had gotten to spend more time with Earth and SketchUp.

  6. The third face to face was very helpful. Having the time to work in group was a great help. Having more than one person giving you feed back made the your lesson better than it was originally. The only thing that I would suggest is to give some time to work with sketch up.

  7. The third face to face I found very productive, I was able to share my work on my final pproject and get some really intuitive comments from Dorit as well as fellow classmates. Also seeing google earth and sketch up how easy it was to download and navigate made me more confident to go home and use it and try to find ways to work it into my classroom.

  8. I thought the third meeting was necessary and essential. I needed the feedback so that we could see as a team whether we are doing the correct thing or not. I also needed face to face attention because I was experiencing some problems with the upload of images on powerpoint and Dorit was helpful - I don't believe I would have understood directions by letter I needed her to show me how to work the application. I also needed to understand future expectations so I could finish my site for final submission. It was good to get fresh perspectives from peers and see their design templates for ideas.

  9. There are several reasons why our final face to face session was very important to me. First, I was thrilled to see each individual member of our group power point presentation, by viewing eac slide,I saw the pride that was placed into producing excellent work. I was also impressed with the peer evaluation aspect of our program. Being able to accept positive and negative feed back from my peers creates room for growth. The use of google earth and google sketchup was really cool, incorporating both into a project was out of this world. Finally, I am glad to have worked with people who shared the same interest. Dorit, I am thanking you for teaching me so much cool stuff, being able to reinforce what was taught at home is a great assess to me. Keep up the good work!

  10. I agree with everyone so far- the third face to face was a great culmination. We were able to use the class time to get a little bit more in depth as we had nearly two weeks to practice what we learned. I think this class was a great way to almost force us to practice a skill we'll need. No better way to learn then immersion and that's exactly what this class was. The third meeting was using all of our practice to hone our skills.
I agree with Bernie in that seeing the slides was a highlight for me. After seeing some of the different backrounds I was inspired. I was able to use their ideas to help guide my further practice.
