I thought two hours would be a long time but I was totally engrossed in Sketch Up. I did the tutorials and practiced a little with the tools/functions and followed along with making the chair. It's definitely a great tool to bring to life any designs in accurate measurements.
mpritchett These sites are overwhelming. I read and article on multiple intelligence. It's interesting how traditional teaching does not allow for the various learning styles of students. Flexibilty is the key! I also spent time in google sketch up. Great idea for math and science fair projects.
The sights are very facinating and enticing! I explored the google earth and sketchup. Its quite amazing what technology has the capability of doing and how we can captivate our youth's minds. In so many lessons we seem to loose the creative side (our element if you will). By using google sketchup people have the capibility of exploring, and creating aspects of geometry, architechture, and design. By viewing the samples it's quite apparent how much more we need to cap into our student's creative side.
I also thought the two hours would go slow but it was really interesting to look at the different portals on this site. i am going to continue to explore Web 2.0 and differentiated instruction I believe it is beneficial. Tracy
I agree with Brenda and Nyoon I got engrossed in sketchup and google earth. I am very excited to develop lesson plans for my future class using web 2.0. Even if there are not enough computers in my classroom for the students to work together this could be an excellent center time activity for the students to practice math skills, reasoning skills, geography and not even realize they are doing work!
Lots of helpful information on the different topics and thier links. I read up on information on the types of assessment, differentiate of instruction, web 2.0 and last the sketch up. After all that reading I watched the first two videos part 1- the concepts behind it and part 2- drawing shapes. My students will love this. My favorite concept is orbit. This is because you get to see your 3D sketch in all directions.
I am enjoying the information that has been given on differentated instructions. Last school year I taught third grade, most of my students were ELL learners, therefore I am excited to implement some of the techniques that this web site or learning session has exposed me to.
I think that it is great that there is a high level of excitement amoung out group. There is so much to learn and get excitement about and the ch I think that it is great that there is a high level of excitement amoung out group. There is ildren can feel it when you have a passion for what you are doing. I viewed the slideshow on assessments and started to take notes. Then I realized that I can just cut and paste the info that I wanted into Word, which I did. Now I have notes on both summaritive and inforative assessments. Then I viewed the slideshow for Web 2.0. The differences between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 are quite clear after viewing the video. I am throughly enjoying my experiences in this class. You know this is true when you are surfing the net and time just flies by.

ReplyDeleteI found myself reviewing the tools we learned and trying them out again. I also looked at the lessons and that led me to a lot of other pages.
